Physics 618: Applied Group Theory. Spring 2021. Professor Gregory Moore

Because of the pandemic the course will be conducted entirely via an online format. I will send a Zoom invitation via email. Please do not share that Zoom link. Auditors are welcome, but they must contact me first. Please note: I am always open to requests for covering specific topics. gm

This is a course on group theory primarily intended for physics graduate students intending to specialize in condensed matter or particle theory. It will also have material of interest to mathematics students with some interest in mathematical physics. A more detailed course description of a past incarnation can be found here.

The first class will be on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2020, at 12pm. We will then meet on subsequent Monday's and Thursday's 12pm - 1:20pm until the beginning of May. FINAL CLASS: Monday, May 3, 2021. Final paper is due on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

A description of potential topics and some administrative matters can be found be found here.
