Optical Cluster Cosmology

The last few weeks have seen some claims of >~ 3σ detections of neutrino mass. I will discuss what optical galaxy contribute to this discussion, and what the future might hold. I will also present the redmapper cluster catalog, and present some performance benchmarks by comparing it against X-ray and SZ selected cluster samples. These results lay out the groundwork for upcoming photometric surveys like DES, HSC, and LSST.
