g-factors measurements this decade

Magnetic moment measurements provide one of the most outstanding tools to contrast nuclear structure models. At Rutgers University, the so called Transient Field technique has been utilized during four decades to study g-factor values of, mainly, 2+ states in stable isotopes. During the last decade a special effort has been made to expand our knowledge on the nuclear structure of radioactive isotopes using alpha-transfer reactions and radioactive beams, in conjugation with the Transient Field technique. During this talk, a short overview to recent results on radioactive species using alpha-transfer reactions, and the challenges that research in nuclear magnetic moments face during the forthcoming years, will be presented.
