PRATTBURGH TOWN BOARD MEETING

                                                            Tuesday March 16 at 7:00 P.M.

On the Agenda:  A representative from the Steuben County Planning Board has been invited to speak about COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING.

Every single legislator we have spoken to has told us that in order for the wind projects to be regulated, there must be action taken at the local level.  Since Prattsburgh has no formal zoning, the Town Board has so far said that they will take absolutely no action to regulate the projects.  Many landowners have requested that the Town Board declare a moratorium on wind “farm” projects until the town has an opportunity to go to comprehensive planning and ultimately zoning.

Thus far the Town Supervisor and Town Board have said they will absolutely not do any such thing.  However, they have invited the representative from the County Planning Board to speak at the next meeting to speak about Comprehensive Planning.  It is very important that as many people as possible show up for this morning in order to indicate that landowners in Prattsburgh do indeed want this to happen.  Everyone is urged to attend.

At the end of the town meetings, the Board is allowing ten minutes for comments.  In order to do this it is necessary to contact the Town Clerk ahead of time and ask to be put on the agenda.  The number is 607 522-3761.
