Scientists use X-ray telescopes to study the universe, because so many objects in the sky emit x-rays.  Click on the x-ray image of the sun below to learn about all the different objects that radiate x-rays.

We cannot see x-rays with our eyes, but x-ray telescopes can collect data on the x-ray photons, and then we can represent data in "false color" to obtain information about the objects in the sky.

So, what can we learn about x-ray photons that are collected by the telescope?

We can learn about their arrival time, their energy, and their postion in the sky.

Now let's transform into astronomers and begin analyzing some data!
