Statistical mechanics, simulation and times arrow
Per Stoltze
Simulations is an alternative to experiments and theory:
Although simulations open the possibility to investigate
experimental problems in great detail, the relation between
simulations and reality is, in some areas, not obvious.
In the following we will investigate the following problems:
- When is thermodynamic equilibrium well-defined ?
- Does a system approach equilibrium ?
- What is irreversibility ?
- Statistical mechanics
- Simulations
- Times arrow
