Rutgers Physics Citations Ranked 6th in US

Papers written by members of our department ranked 6th in their frequency of citation when compared with those published by all other Physics Departments in the U.S. This ranking appeared in the September/October issue of Science Watch and was based on all papers published over the five-year period 1993-1997. The results were:

The second column is the number of papers published during the five year period, while the third column is the amount by which the number of citations per paper exceeded the mean. So, for example, our papers were cited 2.57 times more often than the average paper, or 157% above the mean.
