Postdoctoral position at UC Santa Barbara, California
A postdoctoral position in Computational Materials Physics is available in the group of Prof. Chris Van de Walle in the Materials Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
Candidates should have a strong background in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics and experience with first-principles calculations. Programming experience is desirable. The ability to work effectively in a team and good communication skills (oral and written) are essential. Candidates should also have a keen interest in materials physics and a motivation to interact with experimentalists. Areas of current interest include loss mechanisms in light emitters, hydrogen interactions with materials, and materials for next-generation computing.
