Public Observing at the Robert A. Schommer Observatory

The Department of Physics and Astronomy owns and operates a 20-inch optical telescope which is housed in the dome atop the Serin Building (Busch campus). Public viewing sessions using this telescope are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month (when the sky is clear). The dome opens at 8 pm, or 1 hour after sunset, whichever is later. Attendance at these observing sessions is optional. For more information, see:
