Herbert Neuberger - professional activities

Position

Professor

Group

I am a single person group; there are no postdocs, no graduate students and no staff.

Research Activities

My area of specialization is Field Theory and I am mostly interested in its non-perturbative aspects.

Funding:

My research is funded by the DOE.

Applicants:

If you are looking to get into graduate school here, or for a postdoctoral position here, or for a faculty position here, there is no point to approach me:

1) Students: I have nothing to do with graduate student acceptance in the department, in high energy theory or in any other subfield. I cannot influence acceptance decisions.

2) Postdocs: I do not have funds to hire postdocs.

3) Faculty: I am shut out of the hiring process in high energy theory and experiment and have no other expertise. As a regular faculty member, I am part of the faculty  body that discusses and votes on appointments and promotions when the case gets to the general faculty.

I do not respond to applications in the above categories, nor do I forward them to anybody.

Visitors:

If you are interested in a short or longer term visit here in order to interact with me, some funds could be available. However, you should note that there is hostility to Lattice Field Theory in the department.

Talks at Rutgers:

If you would like to give a seminar at Rutgers in High Energy, do not contact me because I cannot arrange such things. High Energy seminars are never on Lattice Field Theory topics.

If you would like to give a departmental colloquium, I can try, but my ability to get a slot is very limited.

Current research:

Check the archive.

Teaching:

Unlike other high energy theorists here, I teach our normal load of one course per semester. This page will not carry information about what I teach: check the listed courses in the department and their web pages instead.

Other activities, honors, etc.:

Google me.
