(1) The introduction of an "Inflationary" epoch in the very early
evolution of the Universe was intended to account for two problems
with the standard Big Bang model, namely the Horizon problem and the
Flatness problem.  What are these problems and how does inflation
solve them?

(2) Come up with some questions on cosmology or astronomy for us to
use as a basis for discussion on Monday.  Questions can involve any
material presented in class that remains unclear, concepts not covered
in class that you would like to hear more about, anything arising from
research for your final paper, or anything else!
