Disorder and Field Driven Superconductor Insulator Transition

The main questions addressed in the talk will be: What is the nature of the insulating phase in conventional highly disordered superconductors? What is the mechanism for the superconductor to insulator transition? How do the theoretical insights help understand two puzzling experiments: (a) pseudogaps and vanishing of coherence peaks in the disorder driven transition, and (b) origin of low energy states in the Zeeman field driven transition, both probed by scanning tunneling spectroscopy.
