To benefit most from the lectures, it's best to read the
text ahead of lecture. Then, you can ask questions that
wouldn't otherwise come up. Don't hesitate to ask questions
during and after lectures. Outside of lectures you can
always reach me by e-mail.
Extra lecture: Wednesday, May 6 10:20 - 11:40 via
Zoom. Same Meeting ID etc. as for regular lectures.
Final: The final exam is take home, to be
completed in 24 hrs. You will receive the exam via email by 3pm on Thursday, May 7 and I
will also post it to this website. Send it back to me by 3pm on Friday, May 8. Problems
will be based on the material covered in lectures this
semester. If you have any questions while working on the
final, email me. If the question is not resolved by email, we
will discuss by Zoom.

J. D. Jackson "Classical Electrodynamics" is
a standard graduate textbook that has been used for decades.
You can find an elegant treatment of many topics in L.
D. Landau and E. M. Lifshitz "The classical theory of
fields" (Course of theoretical physics, Volume 2) and
"Electrodynamics of Continuous Media" (Course of
Theoretical Physics, Vol. 8). Finally, "Introduction to
Electrodynamics" by D. J. Griffiths is an excellent
resource for refreshing your knowledge of undergraduate E
& M and for a simpler, more intuitive prospective on
many topics.
Exams & Grades:
We'll have homework & final. Both contribute equally
(50%) to the grade. You can see your grades in Online Gradebook
