Kinetic
roughening of flux fronts penetrating in superconducting thin films studied by magneto-optics shows dynamic stochastic disorder, similar to the behavior of Kardar-Parisi-Zhang systems. There is a
striking similarity with the behavior
of combustion fronts in burning paper.
