The textbook for the course is

Universe: Stars and Galaxies (3rd Edition), by Roger A. Freedman and William J. Kaufmann III, ISBN 0-7167-9565-5
also sold as part of Universe (8th Edition), by the same authors, ISBN 0-7167-9564-7,

both published by W.H. Freeman and Compnay. This is an excellent book, very up-to-date and well illustrated. It is also available as an eBook from http://ebooks.bfwpub.com. You'll find used and new copies at bookstores. Note that the combined textbook is available in two separate volumes. Those who are interested in taking only PHY110, and not PHY109, should consider purchasing the "Stars and Galaxies" version. If you plan to take both PHY109 and 110, then it is cheaper and probably more convenient to buy the single-volume version. In order to fully understand the lecture and to answer the clicker questions, you will need to read the appropriate part of the book before each class.

Note that this book has a free student companion website,

http://www.whfreeman.com/universe

which offers animations, videos, practice quizzes and other study resources.

Books may purchased at the University Bookstores, or on-line from various websites such as this one.
