Information about the final exam

 

The exam will take place in our regular class room ARC 105, on Wednesday December 21, 12 noon – 3 PM.

There will be 8 questions, mostly problems to solve (as on the midterms) but also some questions.

You should bring a calculator and pens etc. You may also bring one sheet (ONLY one!!), 11.5” x 8.5” (you may use both sides) with formulas, constants or anything else that you may find helpful.

PLEASE: Put laptops and CELL PHONES so that neither you or I can see them – use of these devices is of course not allowed.

The exam will cover the following:

Chapter 1 pp. 3-27, 29-34, 36 – 44 and 45 – 50.

Chapter 2 pp. 65 -74, 79 (just fig. 2-7), 81 -85, 89 -93 and 97 -108.

Chapter 3 pp. 115 –140 (not the derivation on p. 124 – 125).

Chapter 4 pp. 147 - 167, 169 - 172 and 174 - 175.

Chapter 5 pp. 185 - 206 and 208 - 213.

Chapter 6 pp. 221 - 242, 246 - 249 and 256 - 261.

Chapter 7 pp. 269 – 288, 291 – 293 and 295 – 303.

Chapter 10: pp 413 – 415, 425 – 432, 438 – 448, 458 – 461

Chapter 11 pp 471 – 484,486 – 490, 492 – 501, 504 – 511, 516 – 523, 526 – 540, 542 – 546

Chapter 12 pp 561 – 566, 568 – 572, 576, and the discussion about quarks given in the lectures.
