Physics 272 - Spring 2012

Announcements (Feb. 06, 2012)

In WebAssign 3, Question 4 part (b) asks for a sketch on paper. Don't bother, because we are not going to collect such papers. For Question 7 you should make use of the textbook's Equation 22-16.

A Practice Exam for the first hour exam has been uploaded to the course Website at the "Exam Copies" link. All students should PRINT the Practice Exam and bring it to class on Monday, Feb. 13 when we'll go over it. Also, students should be prepared to take notes on Feb. 13, because we won't be uploading lecture slides for Feb. 13 to the Website.

Students should bring their Clickers to lecture next Monday, because we'll use them for some of the Practice Exam questions.

This is a really cool new videoclip from NASA. An astronaut in the International Space Station rubs a knitting needle to give it a charge. Then he uses a syringe to release drops of water. The opposite charge gets induced on the drops, and they are attracted to the needle. Many of them go into orbit around the needle!
