May 8 only
Homework 14 due date extended until tonight.
April 30 - May 8
Monday May 5 recitations are being held as usual, with a quiz on Chapter 31.
mid April - April 30
If you have a conflict, be sure you have sent documentation (what the
conflict is with), and a description of all your other commitments at that
time.
This email must reach Prof. Shapiro by noon on
Wednesday, April 30!
April 22 - April 29
Webassign messed up on problem 7, and we didn't notice this in time.
But I did complain, and they have made some changes which may have
messed you up.
They have added a problem 8 which looks the same as problem 7, but is
correct. They have made problem 7 worth 0 points, and transferred all
the points to problem 8. So if you hadn't already done problem 7,
just do problem 8, but if you did, you need to do problem 8 to get the
credit.
Sorry about that --- this is not what I told them to do.
April 15 - April 22
Webassign seems to have changed the rules on problem 3 this week,
in the middle of your doing it. So I have given everyone 5 attempts
for this problem. You should check that your answers, previously
marked correct, are not now considered wrong.
Use enough accuracy, especially on a, b, c, where five significant
figures would be a good idea.
On assignment 11, problem 3, in order to get 1 percent accuracy in
part d, you will need to have much better accuracy in parts a-c.
Webassign will mark you right if you are within 1%, but then you will
not get part d correct. Keep five significant figures on your intermediate
results.
March 17 - April 14
