In order to get the maximum benefit from Physics 204, I urge you to
come to the lectures. Physics is such an extensive subject that it is
not possible to cover all topics with equal emphasis. I will, in
lectures, single out what matters most, what I particularly favor,
how I want you to approach the subject matter and, by my gestures and
selection, help you to do well on the examinations. Further, there will
be many demonstrations of the basic concepts of physics which have
been carefully prepared by David Maiullo. Apart from helping you to
better understand physical principles, they are going to help you with
tests and are a lot of fun to watch. Lectures are a place where I will
try to inspire you with the depth, elegance, universality and
usefulness of physics.

Time and Place:
The same lecture is given twice, once 10:30-11:25 and once 12:15-1:10.
You may attend either lecture, regardless of which one you are
officially registered for. Lectures are on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The content of each lecture is listed on the syllabus, together with which
sections of the book you should read (preferably before lecture, and
again after it) and the conceptual problems you should think about.
There will be no ``lecture grade''.
