New directions in quantum searching

The quantum search algorithm was originallly invented for the application of database searching. It has since then found application in a number of different contexts both algorithmic (collision problem, optimization etc.) as well as physical (precision measurements, direction finding etc.) This talk will introduce the algorithm and discuss some recent extensions (fixed point searching) and applications (resonator design).
