Andrew Boudreaux

Western Washington University

Over the past 30 years, the Physics Education Group at the University of Washington has engaged in a coordinated program of research on student learning, development of curriculum, and classroom instruction. The principal aim has been to foster functional understanding of specific concepts, lines of reasoning and problem solving approaches. This talk presents selected examples to illustrate the approach taken, and generalizes to identify key features in successful implementation and broader impacts on the learning and teaching of physics.
