International Workshop on High-Resolution Depth Profiling
Bar Harbor, Maine, May 23 - 26, 2005

The purpose of the workshop is to provide an informal forum for exchange of ideas, discussion of problems and presentation of new results in the field of Medium Energy Ion Scattering and closely related fields, such as a Nuclear Resonance Profiling and Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis, as well as Surface Structure Determinations using ion beams. Contributions are also solicited from fields that have an impact on, and can be impacted by, the topics above. The Workshop will be concerned with both fundamental ion-solid interactions issues and important applications in areas such as nano-technology, semiconductor devices, surface and interface characterization on the atomic scale, thin-film growth and its characterization, etc. Both experimental and theoretical contributions are welcomed. This workshop follows two highly successful workshops in Abingdon,UK in 2000, and in Kyungju, Korea in 2002.

The meeting will consist of invited lectures by leading researches in the field, contributed oral talks and poster presentations.

The meeting will take place at the Harborside Hotel and Marina in the beautiful small town of Bar Harbor, Maine, located just outside one of the most popular national parks in the US, Acadia National Park .

Social events: Welcome reception, conference outing and a banquet, featuring famous Maine lobsters.
