Complex SYK model

Abstract: This talk is based on an upcoming paper with Y.Gu, S.Sachdev, and G.Tarnopolsky. We study the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model for complex fermions with N flavors and a conserved global U(1) charge. The relation between the total charge Q and the spectral asymmetry parameter E (known from previous work by Georges, Parcollet, and Sachdev) is derived in three different ways: using a time-domain regularization, RG flow, and bulk picture (namely, Dirac fermions on the hyperbolic plane). The last method directly gives the "zero-temperature entropy". We also obtain an effective action for soft degrees of freedom.
