Samuel Marateck Fellowship in Quantum Field Theory Physics
The Samuel Marateck Fellowship in Quantum Field Theory Physics in the
Department of Physics and Astronomy has been established with a
$500,000 bequest from the Estate of Samuel Marateck.
Dr. Marateck, who earned his Ph.D. in physics from Rutgers in 1967,
became an award-winning teacher in the New York University Computer
Science Department, while maintaining a life-long interest in physics.
The Fellowship will be used to support a Physics and Astronomy
graduate student who is studying quantum field theory, based
on academic merit.
