ruthesis
in Physics and Astronomy
Rutgers has rigorous requirements about how theses are typeset, which
are spelled out in
"Thesis and Dissertation Style Guide", though that document only helps
if you are using Word. Fortunately, there is also an approved latex style
file ruthesis.cls
. On the Suns,
this will be automatically included if you start your file with
\documentclass{ruthesis}
.
If you are using LaTeX on another machine, the file can be obtained
from the Physics Suns from
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf-local/tex/latex/rutgers/ruthesis.cls
and placed either in the working directory or in the corresponding
spot in your teTeX distribution.
If your default is not automatically for lettersize, you might also
include the line
\special{papersize=8.5in,11in}
You may also want to look at the GSO's "How to Graduate" page.
