3 year Postdoc Position

Simulations of Interaction between Defects and Interstitial solutes in Iron

Department of Materials Science, Delft University of Technology, the
Netherlands

Applications are invited for a 3-year post-doctoral position that is
available immediately.
The ideal candidate has experience in computational materials science. A PhD
in
materials science, physics, theoretical chemistry, or related field is
required.
The position is focused on developing and applying effective potentials for
interstitial solutes in iron,
particularly carbon, nitrogen and boron.  The effective potentials are
derived from electronic
density functional results.  The potentials will be used for large scale MD
simulations of the interaction
between solutes and extended defects such as dislocations and twins.  You
will be interacting with a
group of PhD students, other staff, and industry so that good verbal
communication skills in English
are essential.
The department of Materials Science at Delft University of Technology offers
