Dear Prof. Vanderbilt,
I would be very grateful if you could post this announcement of a postdoc
position in Montpellier on your site.
Thanking you in advance,
Sincerely yours,
P.Jund.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post Doc position in computational materials science
Duration: 1 year
Expected starting date: as soon as possible
Location: University Montpellier 2 (France)
Subject: Simulation of chalcogenide based storage devices

We propose a one year/18 months post-doctoral position in a french public laboratory (Institut Charles Gerhardt- CNRS-UM2) in Montpellier (south of
France). The post-doctoral fellow will be paid by the French National Research Agency.
The objectives of the proposed research is to determine the physics behind the phase change mechanism observed in chalcogenide based materials via ab
initio simulations. This program is part of a larger project involving both experimentalists and theoreticians. The aim is to investigate the
transition between a crystalline and an amorphous state observed in Ge-Sb-Te samples that are used as storage devices using a DFT based computer code
similar to VASP.
This work program is recommended for a candidate specialized in ab initio computer simulations (static or dynamic) applied in materials science. A
strong background in solid state physics/chemistry is also necessary.
Applications, including a short C.V., a short statement of research achievements and contact information for three references should be sent (or
e-mailed) to:
