Subject: Re: Postdoctoral Positions in Hong Kong in Condensed Matter Theory

Dear colleagues:

There will be a few postdoc openings in condensed matter theory in Hong Kong,
including one or two openings in my own group at the Univ. of Hong Kong, and
2-3 openings under a group research program involving four universities in Hong
Kong. Our current interests cover various sub-field in condensed matter
including strongly correlated electron systems, quantum phase transition and
quantum information, spin transport, and magnetism. We should appreciate it
very much if you could bring this to potential candidates and suggest them to
contact with Ms. Anisia Tang (e-mail: anisia-at-hkucc.hku.hk) at Department of
Physics, The Univ. of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.

Below I enclose an announcement of the postdoctoral position openings involving
four universities.

Sincerely yours,

Fu-Chun Zhang
Professor of Physics

Postdoctoral Positions in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics

Applications are invited for 2-3 postdoctoral research associate positions
in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics under a group research program
supported by the Research Grants Council of the HKSAR, commencing as early
as May 2006. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the Center
for Theoretical and Computational Physics at the University of Hong Kong.
He/she will collaborate with group members, H.-Q. Lin, T. K. Ng, L.-H.
Tang, Z.-D. Wang, and F.-C. Zhang, on analytical and numerical studies of
strongly correlated electron systems, superconductivity and magnetism, and
quantum phase transitions. Initial appointment will be for two years, with
the possibility for renewal contingent on performance and availability of
research funds. The salary range will be 20K -28K Hong Kong Dollar per month
(current exchange rate is 1 USD about 7.8 Hong Kong Dollar), depending on
the experience and quality.

Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, publication list, a brief
description of their research interests, and arrange for three letters of
reference to be sent by e-mail to: anisia-at-hkucc.hku.hk, or mail to Ms. Anisia
Tang, Department of Physics, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong
Kong. The review of applications will begin ASAP.
