The Center for Atomic-scale Materials Design has an opening for one two=
-year postdoc position. The successful applicant will use first-principles=
quantum mechanical calculations to study the atomic and electronic struct=
ure of low-cost thin-film solar cells. In particular the possibilities of =
designing new solar cells based on copper-zinc-tin-sulfide (CZTS) material=
s will be investigated.

The project will be carried out at the Center for Atomic-scale Materials D=
esign (CAMD) located at the Department of Physics, Technical University of=
Denmark north of Copenhagen.

We offer a dynamic and international working environment with research act=
ivities within several areas of theoretical and computational solid state =
physics including (photo-)catalysis, electro-chemistry, and molecular elec=
tronics. We have extensive experience with the development and application=
of electronic structure theory, and our real space code GPAW is under con=
tinuous development. Our Linux supercomputer cluster, Niflheim, containing=
5000+ cores provides optimal conditions for large-scale computer simulati=
ons.

Funding is provided through the Center on Nanostructuring for Efficient En=
ergy Conversion (CNEEC) under the U. S. Department of Energy and by the Ca=
talysis for Sustainable Energy (CASE) initiative under the Danish Ministry=
of Science, Innovation, and Higher Education.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. Furthermore candidates =
should have a background in theoretical physics or quantum chemistry. Basi=
c knowledge of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and some programming experi=
ence is preferred.

We offer
We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international environmen=
t focusing on education, research, public-sector consultancy and innovatio=
n, which contribute to enhancing the economy and improving social welfare.=
We strive for academic excellence, collegial respect and freedom tempered=
by responsibility. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a leading=
technical university in northern Europe and benchmarks with the best univ=
ersities in the world.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confede=
ration of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the=
relevant union.
