The Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Tec= hnical University of Catalonia, invites outstanding applicants for a post-d= octoral researcher position in the area of Computer Simulation of Condensed= -matter. The successful candidate will join the group of Professor Elvira G= uàrdia (http://simcon.upc.edu). The position is part of an internation= al collaborative project on polarizable interactions in condensed phase sys= tems by means of classical and ab initio Molecular Dynamics simulations. Th= e work will be performed in close collaboration with Dr. Marco Masia at the= University of Sassari (http://physchem.uniss.it/marco.masia).

 

Appli= cants should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a re= lated discipline, and a strong background in computer simulations. Experien= ce with classical and/or ab initio Molecular Dynamics and code development = are desirable, as well as good communications skills, ability to work in a = team, and a keen interest to collaborate with researchers within the projec= t. Applicants should submit a cover letter and CV with a publications list = to elvira.guardia-at-upc.edu. Reference letters should be also submitted at least by= two scientists who have worked with the candidate. This is a one-year Post= doctoral Research Fellowship starting on January 2012. The gross salary (in= cluding social security) is 33.000 Euros. The deadline for applications is = the 2nd of December 2011.
