todoctoral Research Associate or Research Scientist position in the area of=
 computational catalysis.&nbsp;This is unique position involving a collabor=
ative research project between the Computational Catalysis Laboratory at th=
e University of Virginia and British Petroleum.&nbsp;The first year of the =
program will predominantly be carried out at the University of Virginia wit=
h very close interactions with researchers at BP. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conting=
ent upon the successful completion of the first year of the program, the se=
cond year will transition the work to the research laboratories at BP and b=
e sponsored directly by BP. The program will involve ab initio (DFT) based =
simulations of the reactivity of metals and zeolites for different industri=
al applications.&nbsp;Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics,=
 Chemical Engineering Material Science or related discipline and significan=
t experience in ab initio quantum mechanical methods and their application =
to catalytic systems.&nbsp;The applicant should have a strong understanding=
