A postdoctoral associate position is available at Rice University in the br=
oad area of atomistic and molecular modeling of cement hydrate with a parti=
cular focus on modeling the Calcium-Silicate-Hydrate gel phase. Computation=
al techniques will be integrated to approaches from statistical mechanics a=
nd physical chemistry to provide quantitative predictions of properties of =
cementitious materials across different time- and length-scales. The resear=
ch will be carried out at Rice University=92s Laboratory for Multiscale Mat=
erials Modeling.

A Ph.D. in materials science, chemistry, physics, engineering or a related =
field is required. The candidate should have well-developed computational s=
kills and a strong background in materials modeling and simulation includin=
g ab-initio calculations and molecular dynamics. Good written and spoken co=
mmunication skills are expected.=20
