Applications are invited for three (3) postdoctoral research associate positions in the Computational Nanoscience and Materials Research Group, led by Prof. Oguz Gulseren, of the Department of Physics at Bilkent University. The research areas are theoretical and computational studies in nanostructures in the perspective of physical properties of graphene and BN films, bio-mimetic adhesives, dye sensitized solar cells over titania surfaces and reaction dynamics over various surfaces (for example NOx reduction and oxidation). Prospective candidates should have a PhD in a related field (for the postdoctoral position), and are expected to be competitive in the areas of electronic structure calculations as well as solid state physics. However, the fellowship is flexible and strong applications fitting any of the group's present interests will be considered. 
 
Postdoctoral research associate candidates should be able to work alone, as well as lead and organize group efforts consisting of several graduate students.  More information about the department is available at

Bilkent University is an English-speaking university. The salaries are commensurate with the international standards and depend on the degree of experience. Bilkent University offers group health insurance with a fee, ~$100 per month. Besides successful candidates might be provided furnished on-campus housing for a reasonable fee. The postdoctoral research associates positions are available immediately and appointments are initially for one year and extendable for the second year on mutual agreement.
