Two Postdoc Positions in Theoretical Chemistry

Center for Theoretical Chemistry, Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany


Two postdoc positions in theoretical chemistry are immediately available in the groups of Dr. Jörg Behler and of Prof. Dominik Marx at the Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany.

The projects in the field of theoretical surface science and heterogeneous catalysis include molecular dynamics simulations of complex chemical processes at solid surfaces and the development of new methods. A close collaboration with experimental groups is envisaged.

The Center for Theoretical Chemistry at the Ruhr-University offers an exciting interdisciplinary research environment and excellent facilities including several high-performance parallel platforms in house. For more information, please see http://www.theochem.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/home.en.html.

Interested candidates should hold a PhD in physics, chemistry or a related field, and should have a strong background in density-functional theory, as well as experience in Fortran programming. Good communication skills in English or German are required. The positions will be initially for one year, an extension is possible.
