The = Materials and Surface Theory (MST) group invites applications for a post do= ctoral position in theoretical materials physics/strong electron correlatio= ns. The MST group (= http://www.chalmers.se/ap/EN/research/materials-surface-theory) is a mix of theori= sts belonging to the Department of Physics (Göteborg University) and t= he Department of Applied Physics (Chalmers). We are looking for a person wi= th experience in solid state calculations based on the Density functional t= heory (DFT) and the Dynamical mean field theory (DMFT) for strongly correla= ted materials. The local environment offers exciting collaborations between= theory/calculations and experiments. The experimental activities of intere= st at Chalmers concern e.g. fabrication and characterization with atomic re= solution of metal oxides and their interfaces. A vast number of properties= of these materials, such as field induced metal to insulator transitions, = giant oxygen conductivity, are still to be understood. The position involve= s partly supervision of PhD students.

 

Starting date for the positio= n is preferably early fall 2009
