Open Postdoctoral and PhD Posi= tions, Theoretical Mineralogy and Materials Design lab at State University = of New York at Stony Brook.

This is a new laboratory formed in 2008, when Prof. Artem R. Oganov and the= core of his group moved to Stony Brook from Switzerland. Applications can = be sent at any time, preferably by 15 April 2009. The positions will be ext= remely competitive and filled when outstanding candidates are identified wi= th the expertise in one of the two directions:
(1) development of new methods and = codes for predicting structures and properties of materials.<= font face=3D"Times New Roman" >
(2) applications of novel computati= onal methods to high-pressure physics, mineralogy of planetary interiors, a= nd materials design.

Candidates should demonstrate excellence a= nd valid degrees in computational science and programming, and/or  phy= sics, chemistry, materials science, geosciences.
