An opening for a postDoctoral position is available starting immediately in the Computational Science Group at IBM Zurich Research Laboratory .

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in computational material science (chemistry, physics or related engineering areas). He/She should have experience and interest in simulations of bulk and transport properties of materials, a background in Monte Carlo or (ab-initio) molecular dynamics simulation methods, as well as knowledge of force field assessment and development. Experience with high performance computing is desired. The candidate will work with a top team of computational and experimental material scientists to explore new concepts for photovoltaic devices in the framework of the recently established Egypt-IBM Nanothechnology Research Center, focussing on the simulation of the structural and photo-electrical properties of hydrogen passivated silicon based systems.

The position is for 18 months, with possibility for an extension.

The work location will be at the IBM Zurich Research laboratory (www.zurich.ibm.com) which offers an exciting and stimulating interdisciplinary research environment with excellent facilities including top high performance massively parallel supercomputers (BlueGene/L and Blue Gene/P) . The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating environment, working with a dynamic and skilled team in the field of computational sciences. He will also be offered an attractive salary and a number of interesting benefits.
