Applications are invited for postdoctoral research associate (as well as = PhD) positions in the computational nanoscience and materials research grou= p at the Department of Physics, Bilkent University. The areas of research a= re theoretical and computational studies in nanostructures in the perspecti= ve of physical properties of graphene and BN films, bio-mimetic adhesives, = dye sensitized solar cells over titania surfaces and  reactions dynamics over various surfaces (for exa= mple NOx reduction and oxidation). Prospective candidates should have a&nbs= p;PhD in a related field, and are expected to be competitive in the ar= eas of electronic structure calculations as well as solid state physics. However, the fellowship is flexible and strong applic= ations fitting any of the group's present interests will be considered.  

 
Successful candidates are expected to work in close collaboration with= the computational nanoscience and materials research group led by Prof. Og= uz Gulseren at Department of Physics, Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey. P= ostdoctoral research associate candidates should be able to work alone, as = well as lead and organize group efforts consisting of several graduate= students.  More information about the department is available at

Bilkent University is an English-speaking universit= y. The salaries are highly commensurable with the international= standards and depends on degree of experience. Bilkent University offers g= roup health insurance with a fee, ~$100 per month. Besides successful candi= dates might be provided furnished on-campus housing for a reasonable fee.  The postdoctoral research as= sociates positions are available immediately and appointments are initially= for one year and extendable for the second year on mutual agreement.
