            We have an opening for a postdoctoral position in the area of ab initio electrochemical modelling. The project focuses on the reactivity at the electrochemical interface. We will focus on how an applied potential can modify the structure and reactivity of the surface-solvent interface. We will model complex interfaces of great theoretical and industrial importance. In particular, we will study the reduction of proton at a metal interface and on the effect of the biaised on adsorbed molecules like CO.

            The project offers opportunities to collaborate with many French centres of excellence (Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (<st1:place w:st="on">Lyon</st1:place>), ENPC (Paris)) and industrial companies (IFP(Lyon)) through the Sire network founded by the French ANR (national French research agency). The candidate will have access to both national French supercomputers facilities (CINES/IDRIS) and local clusters.

Qualifications<o:p></o:p>

Applicants must hold Ph.D. or equivalent in physics, chemistry or materials science.

Expertise in materials modelling and simulation would be strongly desired, strong background and a previous experience with semi-empirical/ab initio approaches would be advantageous. Aptitude to communicate effectively with co-workers and a demonstrated ability to conduct original research, are expected. The position is full-time for one year, with a possible extension to a second year.
