Two Tales of Black Holes and Anisotropies
Yacine Ali-Haïmoud

Abstract:

In this 2-in-1 talk, I will first describe primordial black holes as an intriguing dark matter candidate, and how one can search for their signatures in anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), as well as in kilohertz gravitational-wave events detectable by LIGO. The second half of the talk will focus on optimal search strategies for anisotropy in the nanohertz stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB), sourced by supermassive black hole binaries, which ought to be detected by pulsar timing arrays in the next few years.
