Travel information:

Most participants will arrive in Chile at the Santiago International Airport (SCL) and go through customs and immigration there. There are several ATMs at the airport - this is in most cases the best way to change money.

We will arrange bus transportation from the airport to the conference site. The bus will leave the airport ~ 10:30 AM on Sunday, January 7. If you have not done so already and would like to take this bus, please inform us about your flight schedule, so that we can take any flight delays into account.

New!!! Information about different ways to get from the airport to Conference Town is posted here.

Travel reimbursement:

For reimbursement of airline ticket purchases, the passenger copy of the airline ticket receipt and boarding pass should be attached to your request. If an electronic ticket was used, a detailed invoice/itinerary (which may also be identified by the air carrier as a receipt), as long as it shows all times of departure, flight numbers, class of service, fare basis, ticket or confirmation number, and cost of ticket, along with proof of payment (i.e., credit card being charged) will also be accepted as original receipt.

Visas:

Citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay only need their identification card in order to enter Chile. Citizens of other countries need a valid passport and may in addition need a visa - please inquire at the nearest Chilean embassy or consulate. Citizens of the United States do not need a visa but must pay a reciprocity fee of $100 (cash or credit card) when entering the country (after leaving the aircraft and before going through immigration). This fee is valid for the life of your passport. There is no such fee for citizens of most European countries.

If you are a US resident but do not have a US passport, you need to make sure that your US visa status allows you to re-enter the US after the PASI.

Weather:

January is peak summer season in Chile with daytime temperatures in the mid 20s centigrade (70s Farenheit) with little chance of rain.
