St. Petersburg is connected to all European Capitals and US cities (New York etc.) by direct or connecting flights of Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Finnair, British Airways, SAS, Aeroflot, and other major airlines. Because of the busy summer season, please make your travel arrangements well in advance. Note that, by NATO regulations, participants eligible for travel support from NATO funds should use the most economic fares.
Airport Pick-up.
We plan to pick-up participants upon their arrival in St.Petersurg International Airport and take them to the conference site, the State Education Center. To help us to make airport pick-up schedule, please inform us about your travel arrangements: flight number, and arrival date and time. Also please e-mail a copy of your travel schedule to the local organizing committee the local organizing committee at your earliest convinience.
Special NATO Fund for Successful Applicants from Greece, Portugal, and Turkey
NATO provides limited additional funds to ensure the participation of some young scientists from Greece, Portugal, and Turkey who might otherwise be prevented from attending NATO Advanced Study Institutes because of national financial stringency. To be eligible to apply to the Special Fund, applicants must FIRST be accepted to the ASI/ARW based on their scientific qualifications.
The Special Funds are administered on behalf of NATO by a National Administrator in each of the three countries. The award normally corresponds to total or partial payment of travel expenses.
