Links to Physics Alliances

Here are links to some alliances. (If you want to be included, please let me know!)

One is to Science House at North Carolina State University,

and one to Arizona State University's modeling workshop (Jane Jackson and David Hestenes) with more links.

The next one is to the Los Angeles Physics Teachers Alliance Group ("LAPTAG"). Its program is featured in the December 2001 "news and views".

One of the best-organized and most active groups, with regular meetings and a newsletter, is ISPP in Chicago, the Illinois State Physics Project.

Another alliance in the Chicago area is that for Physics Northwest which includes a link to yet another one, ChicagoLand Area Physics West.

New Jersey's alliance is the New Jersey Section of the AAPT. From its home page you can download a manual on amusement park physics by Barbara Wolff-Reichert and Virginia Moore, which starts with the building of a force meter and includes lesson plans and activities. There are also Ted Latham's pages on bridges, earthquakes, etc. A link to mamber websites get you to Jim Kovalcin's physics resources. There are "physics links" that get you to some interesting and useful sites, and "vendor links" to the home pages of lab eqipment providers.

"Physics in our neighborhood", PION, is an alliance of teachers north of San Francisco Bay. Their website has an extensive list of links, including lessons, etc.

STASCKY is the Science Teachers Alliance - South Central Kentucky.

The Metro Orleans Physics Teachers Organization or MOPTO (click on MOPTO here and then on MOPTO on the UNO physics website) has a newsletter and links.

Here is the Southern Maine Physics Alliance,
